There will be severe weather today and this evening. As severe weather occurs, I’ll update here.

There will be some severe weather across Arkansas on Friday. Here is the Storm Prediction Center’s Severe Weather Outlook. When severe weather occurs, I’ll post updates here.

We’ve had a little over 1.7” of rain so far today. Some moderate rain is continuing across the state this afternoon. Here’s a look at a couple of high-res radar images.


Some heavy rain is on the way to Arkansas this weekend. The Baron Weather Forecast Model is showing rain beginning in Hot Springs around 5AM with the heaviest around 1PM. Close to an inch of rain is possible. If the situation turns severe, I’ll post updates here.

There’s a Freeze Watch in effect for Garland County and much of central Arkansas. North Arkansas is also under a Freeze Warning.

There are some storms across Arkansas this evening. The Severe Thunderstorm Watch is ongoing.
First map is a look at the current high-res radar. Second map shows the hail/flooding potentials (up to 3” hail possible in some areas). Third map shows the path of the hail. Fourth map shows lightning, PulseRad lightning intensity, as well as is putting Garland County in a “Dangerous Thunderstorm Alert” area. Fifth map shows another look at high-res radar.
