Christmas Week Winter Weather Update #ARWX

Central Arkansas is under a Wind Chill Advisory for the upcoming Winter Weather event this Christmas Week. So far, the (Baron) weather forecast model is showing the bulk of the wintry precipitation will miss Hot Springs (although it could still spit a little frozen precipitation our way). The rain/snow/ice/sleet/freezing rain accumulations seem to miss Central Arkansas for anything that would be measurable. Road conditions forecast show slippery roads for Hot Springs at times, but the bulk of the freezing stuff missing us. The Upcoming Deep Freeze #ARWX

Here are a few graphics on the upcoming deep freeze across the country this week that show wind chill and snow chances. It looks like Central Arkansas is in for some potential ice or wintry mix. I’m going to post another update tomorrow once the weather forecast models have updated so I can give you a better picture at what to expect in Arkansas. Stay safe, stay warm, and avoid travel later this week if possible until the roads thaw out!

Weekend Rain and Storms Tuesday #ARWX

Here are a couple of graphics summarizing the weather for Arkansas over the weekend and early next week.

For this weekend (especially Saturday), the rain won’t be letting up, only getting a little stronger and seeing more of it.

There’s also a chance of severe weather on Tuesday. There was a chance for it on Monday as well, but the SPC has downgraded it. I’ll continue to monitor and update here when needed. I’ll also talk more about next week’s severe weather in tomorrow’s Weekly Wrap Up on my other weather blog.
