Severe Weather Update for January 2, 2023 #ARWX

Heavy rain and lightning across Arkansas this afternoon for the severe weather occurring. We are under an Aerial Flood Watch. We’re not under any other Tornado-related alerts at the moment, and I’m not seeing any wind shear yet developing in the storms. Some areas are experiencing a little hail, but I haven’t see any yet here. It’s still a good idea to stay in today and monitor the weather in case conditions worsen, but at the moment, we’re seeing mostly heavy rain and lightning.

Christmas Week Winter Weather Update #ARWX

Central Arkansas is under a Wind Chill Advisory for the upcoming Winter Weather event this Christmas Week. So far, the (Baron) weather forecast model is showing the bulk of the wintry precipitation will miss Hot Springs (although it could still spit a little frozen precipitation our way). The rain/snow/ice/sleet/freezing rain accumulations seem to miss Central Arkansas for anything that would be measurable. Road conditions forecast show slippery roads for Hot Springs at times, but the bulk of the freezing stuff missing us. Here’s a look at some graphics to show what to expect with this Winter Weather event.
