It’s sunny today, but storms are still likely tonight. I’ll continue to monitor it and update accordingly.

Stormy weather across the state today. Here’s a look at the storm potential, future rainfall accumulations, and the severe outlook. Some flood reports have come in throughout the state, plus expect thunderstorms.

There’s still a round of wintry precipitation that’ll move through the state today. It could finally turn back over to rain on Thursday. It’s still not over, and it’s a good idea to remain inside for the next couple of days.

We were spared the brunt of the winter weather last night with mostly rain in which the roads only froze once the temperature dropped overnight. That’s not the case today. We’ve seen non-stop wintry precipitation falling across most of the state. Unless it’s urgent, you definitely need to stay home today. Here are a handful of graphics showing the current radar, forecast ice and sleet for this winter storm, and the road conditions.

Garland County is under an Ice Storm Warning. The wintry precipitation will likely hit North Garland County around 5PM and Hot Springs around 6PM. Road conditions will likely be the worst around 8PM. I recommend wrapping everything up by 5PM.

More wintry precipitation will also be occurring on Tuesday. I recommend staying home.

I thought it’d be easier to show a video of the FutureCast (Baron 3K Model) showing the timing of the winter storm for Monday and Tuesday. Bottom line. Be home by 5PM on Monday and stay home on Tuesday if you can. Here’s also a current radar image showing North Arkansas under a Winter Weather Advisory.

There will be some rain moving across the state on Saturday, but most of the heavy rain will be in South Arkansas. There will also be some chances for winter weather next week beginning on Wednesday. I’ll have more on that in my “Weekly Wrap Up” on Saturday on my weather blog.

Here are the latest graphics for the severe and winter weather updates for Arkansas. We are currently under a Winter Weather Advisory. It’s raining here at the moment, but no winter weather in Hot Springs yet. It could still occur by evening. I’ll continue to monitor and update as needed.
